LUCILA SILVA-SANTISTEBAN
[Landscape Architect + Architect + Urbanist + Researcher]
Lucila holds a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture (MLA 17') from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Bachelor’s in Architecture (B.Arch 12'), from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia. With 3.5 yrs. of experience in Landscape Architecture studios both in Bogota and in NY. 
Born in Bogota-Colombia and raised in between Peru, Ecuador and Colombia, she is currently working in New York City. 
She is focused in how Design-Thinking Research can promote development by community driven initiatives using design as a tool.

Also in finding resilient solutions to pressing issues of the built environment from the point of view of landscape architecture within the urban systems (cities). 
And how natural systems overcome human built ones to which her ongoing investigation: BORDERSCAPE is centered on water's system performance in the integration of political boundaries specifically located in the Amazon tri-national border. 
Previously, while working in Colombia, she has contributed to several  landscape and urban projects of multiple scales including public space, streetscape, urban, master planning, oil field extraction remediation design, and garden design. She also has experience in architectural design, focusing on social housing in conjunction with city planning and private developers.
